Faceless Art

Recently I came upon Lisa Golightly's work, and immediately fell in love with the simplicity of her faceless child-life paintings. Her paintings are subdued with bursts of color which makes them magical to look at. Below are a couple of my favorites but you can view more of her collection Kiki & Polly through Etsy.

A couple of weeks ago I found "the faceless lady" at a thrift store. I fell in love with the painting from the moment I saw it, especially since it reminded me of the faceless art above. It is not by Lisa Golightly (oviously) and unfortunately I don't have the artist info, but love it just as much. Their is something so magical about faceless art. It makes you wonder what they might be thinking, and to get lost in the art itself.

This lady has been quite the conversation starter, between my little girl and I. She tells me, "the princess is sad, because she misses her husband". I love how she can make up a story just by looking at the painting.

This oil on canvas painting is rather large measuring 24x30 inches. The colors are somewhat muted, but love the burst of blue along the edge. For now she hangs in my bedroom, and have named her "Triste Princesse".

Beautiful Kitchen & Lighting

Odds are you're probably familiar with this beautiful country kitchen, that has been surfacing all over the web. But just in case, and now coming out of the rocks it's designed by Holloways of Ludlow and  Bespoke Kitchens. It is amazing and those light fixtures make it even more spectacular.

If you're like me and in dire need of replacing kitchen lighting. Here's a thought, oviously it's not as  amazing as the one above. But at this price you can't go wrong with the Hektar Pendant Lamp.

Just a couple of pretty's to look at over the weekend!

Time Flies...

I cant't believe it's already February, seems like New Year's was just last week. I know it's been a while since my last post, but boy does time fly. With Valentine's around the corner, many  celebrate this day as love & friendship day. I however think of it as something more, re-birth and re-joice. My father passed away 9yrs ago on Valentine's day, so this day has become a lot more meaningful to our family.

The simplicities of life and the beauty of it all, are often overlooked by our fast paced life's. Start living and celebrate the true meaning of love. After all, we are all visitors to this time, and this place. We are just passing through. Our purpose here is to observe, to learn, to grow, to love...and then we return home...

Currently working on a gallery wall and the art pieces below have really inspired me.

Ready for Fall

I've been away for some time, mainly because my little ones really needed me this summer. Also because, I'm a procrastinator when it comes to blogging. It's difficult to find the time to sit down and put together a post, amongst the many things I do daily. It really does take a lot of work and dedication.

August was my one year anniversary, on blogger. And, I gotta say many drafts went unpublished. However it makes me the happiest that my 2 1/2 and 1 1/2, learned their ABC's and Twinkle Twinkle Little Star this summer. So although lots was undone, I had a great summer spending time with my girls and playing in the sun.

But am ready for Fall my favorite time of year...

To begin, a little fall color inspiration. Not your typical fall colors but really loving this mix.

And then I found this beauty!

Hello! I'm Jessica, a writer for Arcadian Lighting, a wonderful online resource for affordable pendant lights, wall sconces, and other light fixtures. Every day I get to search for beautiful interior design inspirations and then share them on lovely blogs, like Audrey and Abby Interiors. Thank you for letting me stop by because I'd love to share a collection of colorful, modern bedrooms just right for summertime! Modern interiors are all about sleek, geometric designs and simple, minimal details that are perfectly lovely in any color. I hope you enjoy!

Colorful Modern Clean lines and a simple, modern aesthetic give this bedroom a very chic atmosphere. Bright pops of orange and pink add a brilliant spark of energy!

Colorful Modern The neutral wall color and low bed frame in this bedroom creates a cool, relaxing environment. The light shades provide the perfect canvas for hot pink bedding.

Colorful Modern While a deep sea blue wall color might be a bit overwhelming, when paired with crisp white accents, the combination is quite enchanting. I love the modern tufted headboard and hidden wall sconces.

Colorful Modern The lively green wall paper adds a charming modern twist to this traditional, rustic bedroom. The fresh green and orange color palette gives the room a brilliant energy.

Colorful Modern An eclectic mix of artwork and bright colors give this bedroom a quirky elegance. Using so many different patterns throughout the room helps direct the eye to every corner.

Colorful Modern This lovely bedroom illustrates the beauty of mixing modern and vintage styles. The chic, simple bed frame is absolutely stunning!

Colorful Modern From the abstract artwork to the shimmering gold table lamps, everything in this bedroom is eye-catching. The sheer, yet brightly colored curtains are a great touch.

Colorful Modern The cool turquoise and pink color palette of this bedroom has a bit of retro charm. An eclectic mix of modern and vintage styles create a unique character for this room.  Images 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 | 7 | 8

In honor of...

In honor of 4th of July, I wanted to share some great interiors of our red white and blue.

This color scheme is a little tricky because if not done correctly you can end up with a countryesque room, "if that's even a word", or americana room as oppose to a modern room. An unless you are going for a country inspired room, I suggest to stay free from florals and plaids, instead use lots of geometric and solid patterns and stay on trend with what's hot. Also I suggest to use lots of black and metallic finishes to draw your eye and balance things out, from the intense red's and blue's and this dramatic color scheme.

Spaces so worth sharing and completely my style.

Not the typical red, white and blue room, a bit funky but it keeps things fun and interesting. With an eclectic vibe, the strong red white and blue's are kept to the perimeter of the room, while in the center you see an explosion of fun. With an assortment of animal prints and gold tones.

They've played around with scale here, if you notice nothing is to proportion but that's what makes this room so appealing. The window treatments in this space make quiet an impression, and strategically placed red pillows and ottomans in the center of the room, balance out all the blue's. This otherwise neutral space, is a  perfect harmony of colors. On every direction the red, white and blue's complement each other, which makes this room so chic and glamorous.

With touches of red this otherwise monochromatic space becomes more fun.

Staying on trend with, Schumacher's Chiang Mai Dragon wallpaper in china blue.

Keeping it simple with solids and geometric shapes, this bedroom becomes more stylish with the gold tones from the Greek Key pendant light from C. Bell.

Classic stripes and ikat pillows keep this room looking modern.

The mix of styles in this space make this room interesting. A bit of glam with the crystal chandelier, some rustic with round wood dining table, and modern with acrylic side table. Also with touches of silver for a perfectly polished dining space.

Happy fourth of July! Time to BBQ!

Get the Look: Stylish Dining Space

All things lovely in this small dining space, with lots of style.

From the draper inspired area rug, which grounds the space, garden chairs for metal sparkle, rattan chandelier for needed texture, and paneled walls for visual detail, every item in this space complements eachother.

What's even better is the neutral color scheme, you can never go wrong with black and white and of course a little grey.

The hydrangeas and pops of yellow on the table setting scream summer to me, which is also why I love this space. So fresh and airy and perfect for this time of year.

You can now get the look too,
